MIDDLETOWN — Monroe High School’s football team brought a smile to the face of first-year coach Mark Mueller last week.

The Hornets gave their new head man a resounding 35-0 road win over Goshen in their 2024 opener, a strong showing that helped erase the lingering taste from last year’s
