Injuries not stopping Edgewood: West nets career-high 23 points as Cougars top Franklin

ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP — Carissa West describes herself as mostly a defensive player for Edgewood High School’s girls basketball team.

So when she erupted for a career-high 23 points Monday night in a 59-52 victory over longtime rival Franklin, West had to admit she couldn’t recall her previous best performance
