Monroe defeats Talawanda for weekend road sweep, off to best start since 2012-13 season

OXFORD — Sam Jeffers scored 18 points Saturday night as Monroe High School’s boys basketball team completed a weekend road sweep by defeating Butler County rival Talawanda 55-48.

Jack Taylor had 11 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Hornets (7-3), who trailed 32-31 heading into the fourth quarter. Will DeBord
