Bricker taking over for longtime coach Gabbard at Waynesville helm: ‘There’s big shoes to fill there’

WAYNESVILLE — The Waynesville High School girls basketball program is moving forward with a familar leader after nearly five decades of the Tim Gabbard era.

Gabbard stepped down after the 2024-25 campaign and finished with 693 victories in 46 years at the helm. He’s been replaced by 15-year assistant coach Kelley Bricker
