ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP — Carson Downie put an exclamation point on Edgewood High School’s first league championship baseball season in 17 years with his signature move.

The junior pitcher finished a four-hitter with a strikeout and did a backflip on the mound Wednesday evening as the Cougars blanked visiting Franklin 4-
