MONROE — Kemper Atha wore the smile of a guy who just worked hard for a win and expects bigger things in the near future.

Monroe High School’s boys basketball team outlasted visiting Waynesville 58-51 in overtime Tuesday night, getting a boost of momentum heading into the Hornets’ Southwestern Buckeye
