Mason earns the right to celebrate, shuts down Twinsburg to capture first-ever D-I state crown

AKRON — The journey was special. The outcome was historic.

Mason High School’s baseball team captured the first Division I state championship in program history Sunday afternoon, rolling past Twinsburg 8-1 at Canal Park to complete a 28-6 campaign in the Comets’ fourth trip to state.
