Monroe falls short in bid to knock off Waynesville, but still hopes to make another D-II postseason run

MONROE — Waynesville High School’s girls soccer team brought a No. 1 state ranking and a perfect record to Monroe on Tuesday night and took care of business.

It was a loss for the Monroe Hornets, but it wasn’t a lost evening.
