MASON — It was just one step in a planned journey, but it was a significant step.

Badin High School’s girls basketball team claimed its third straight Division II district championship and 19th overall Friday night, handling Greater Catholic League Coed Division rival Dayton Carroll 53-39 at Mason Arena.
