FAIRFIELD — Jessi Mathews admitted she didn’t give it much thought as she strode to the plate in the bottom of the seventh inning Thursday. 

Fairfield High School’s senior shortstop simply felt she was due.

Unfortunately for Hamilton, Mathews was dead on in her assessment as she knocked
