OXFORD — When the horn finally sounded last Friday night, Talawanda High School football coach Jay Volker said his thoughts were solely on his team.

Not only had the Brave claimed their first win of the season, 7-0 over Dayton Carroll, but the triumph was also Volker’s first win as
