SEASON PREVIEW: Monroe looking to maintain winning tradition under former Hornet Slocum

MONROE — Nikki Slocum is determined to keep Monroe High School’s softball tradition alive because it means something to her.

Slocum (the former Nikki Tolson) played for the Hornets and graduated from Monroe in 2010, then went on to play four seasons at Wilmington College. Now she’s the head coach
